The Dark Night.

The night strips you down

Leaves you naked

For people

And things

And situations

And for yourself, mostly

An extra dash of love

Or a spike of hatred

Adds fuel to either of the fires.

Insecurities laid out

Without the mask on

Your fears looming over you

Weighed down by your weakness

And your liabilities

Realizing the thin ice areas distinctly

Your scandalous secrets

In the deepest of the abyss

Your dark desires

In the loneliest corners of the heart

All resurfacing to the top

Clearing your vision

And the hazy view

And that brutal honesty,

Is the black night’s beauty.
